Pulled together over a decade ago from a collective of downtown New York musicians, The Cabin Down Below Band, named after the nefarious NYC bar they would frequent, which in turn was named after the Tom Petty song, has jelled into a most formidable unit.
They have backed an array of musical legends — Norah Jones, Brian Wilson, Emmylou Harris, Ann Wilson, Lucinda Williams, Ben Harper, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Brandon Flowers, the Strokes, Kings of Leon, the Black Keys, Johnny Depp, Boz Scaggs, Donald Fagen, Jason Isbell, Kacey Musgraves, Mark Ronson, and hundreds more — and played dozens of historic venues as the impeccable house band for The Best Fest, a series of all-star charity concerts featuring legendary performances that pay tribute to a musical icons — George Harrison, Bob Dylan, the Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, the Rolling Stones and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
When not playing with The Best Fest, the members of the CDB Band are highly sought after touring and recording musicians.
